on friday, harper had her 2 month doctor appointment checkup.
those of you who have kids know it is THE dreaded appointment – it is the one where your precious little baby gets her first round of shots.
it will now go down in history as the hardest moments i have had as a mommy yet. those evil medical people make your baby take a number of shots into their little legs.
i asked the nurse if it was her least favorite thing about her job. her answer was obvious.
(all joking aside, we have an amazing pediatrician and the nurse who gave H her shots was wonderful, and she went super quick to get the pain over with.)
she did a great job, a better job than me. once she started screaming, i started to cry with her. geoff said that the nurse told me to keep talking to her (i swear i didn’t hear her say anything) but i apparently stopped once i started crying. so geoff talked to her through the rest of the shots and i held her as closely as i could.
she got 5 shots and an equal number of little snoopy band-aids on her little legs.
this photo was taken pre-shots. i couldn’t bring myself to take a photo of her afterwards – it just broke my heart.
look at those rolls! i just want to sqeeeeze ’em.
harper’s 2 month stats:
height: 23.5 inches (75th-90th percentile) (she was 21.5 inches at birth)
weight: 10 pounds 15 ounces (50th percentile) (she was 8 pounds 6 ounces at birth)
still, and daily becoming more, stunningly beautiful.
